It is because triple tap home button to start one handed mode was turned on. Disabled it and its responsive again. Reply - May 13, 2018 mkeonine Maybe they'll address this issue with 12 gigs ram in the s9…Sure hope that' enough. lol. Reply - May 13, 2018 Mahesh Walatara Worst thing about is the curved edges- so many refractions and glare on both edges. And none on the Pixel cos its flat. Samsung curved screens are a useless gimmick, Get rid of them. Reply - May 13, 2018 Salman Javed I had this lag figured out how to fix it on my note 8 just disable three tap for resized screenand the lag will disappear Reply - May 13, 2018 salvador r It does lag like a bitch but changing the animations can make it faster Reply - May 13, 2018 Arkadi Danielyan Both are laggy shitty phones get an iphone Reply - May 13, 2018 Daniel C Look closer. It is clearly a delay/lag. This is not related to animation speed at all. Don't be delusional. Reply - May 13, 2018 Aleksandar Zivkovic Home button does that an animation effect which you can't turn off, not even in developers options. But you may try with deactivating the long press by removing Google Assistant as the default Assistant app. Go to apps, three dots default apps… Reply - May 13, 2018 CokeCph Anyone else experiencing stutter /lag while browsing google chrome? Reply - May 13, 2018 Misha K Music Do some research first. It's just because of double tap gestures on s8. Its waiting for the second tap. If you turn that off it won't have delay Reply - May 13, 2018 Nik Kempen Turn you animations off. Notice the lag in the pixel opening apps? You can't fix that using the developer options. The home button animation can be turned off. Reply - May 13, 2018 Zeus The god U got nova launcher on it 😀 Reply - May 13, 2018 Zeus The god Animations only Reply - May 13, 2018 Triggered Feminist My guess is it's the double press to open camera. Turn that off and try again!! Reply - May 13, 2018 se bas Are the lags fixed now? Reply - May 13, 2018 Yuval Akavian you made me not buy the s8, omg that lag is so annyoing Reply - May 13, 2018 Embers just turn off double home button app / and it will work the same as pixel does Reply - May 13, 2018 R X All a bit ridiculous if Apple, Google or Samsung are using animations. Reply - May 13, 2018 Terry Olay Samsung needs to fix their software hiccups. The location of the fingerprint scanner and the presence of a non-remapable Bixby button is also retarded. Reply - May 13, 2018 Theking196 I want to see touch latency on both in slow motion. everyone says the Pixel is smooth when scrolling/swiping. I would like to see them side by side in slow motion. Reply - May 13, 2018 Nickoy1 Channel Samsung's choice of animation is one of the problems, they should stick to stock Android. The next thing is the s8 home button is waiting to see if it's a force touch or tap or long Preeti for Google Assistant. like the prior phones like s3 it had lag because of S-voice when it was waiting to see if it was being activated, once turned off it was like two times faster. s7 was seeing if it's a double press to bring up the camera, or Google now on tap vs going home I seen a video of the iPhone too where disabling some extra things for the home button made it respond much faster, vs when it has to determine if it's a force touch of double press or triple etc. Reply - May 13, 2018 bizmonkey007 It's a trivial difference. Most users will not notice or even care. Reply - May 13, 2018 Markus Deindl FAKE NEWS! just use the stock launcher and turn of one handed mode on the S8! Reply - May 13, 2018 trueblue374 Don't have this slow home button issue on my S8. I just tap it quickly Reply - May 13, 2018 abed haj yihia it's not lag when it's intentional, samsung animations are slower…that's it, don't call it LAG Reply - May 13, 2018 Beauty Neytiri can you please tell me what causes the brightness of the always on display to lower, and get brighter, and back again, all the time ? i dont do anything… i dont even touch it, and this happens all the time… Reply - May 13, 2018 Bladers97 Can I ask one thing?… Who cares? lmao, its literally 0.5 sec calm down 😀 Reply - May 13, 2018 Johnathan Gregorio I have a S8+ and i tried to sync closing apps with ur video. Mine closes app as fast as your pixel. Reply - May 13, 2018 GamingLaw go developer options be careful animations set to 5x Reply - May 13, 2018 Tony Jones I changed the sensitivity on the home button that also made it faster, as well as the animations. Reply - May 13, 2018 Norman Crockett Well its a half ass lazy attempt but atleast there is a different phone in the video so 1 point for you captain samsung Reply - May 13, 2018 Gtlong91 it's waiting for something, either double tap for the camera or maybe Google now when you long press, def not lag cuz even tho it pauses, after when the app closes it's fast so not lag imo Reply - May 13, 2018 den den anybody can help how do you shut off animations Reply - May 13, 2018 Pranav Dixit I would reduce animations on s8 to .5x hopefully that would solve that minor issue Reply - May 13, 2018 hameed s i noticed this problem with my s7 edge before seeing this video and i hate it, i set the animations off and it still takes time, i hate samsung i love samsung i hate samsung i love samsung…. Reply - May 13, 2018 M ATTARI BUDDY PEACE OF ADVICE I TELL YOU YOUR THIRD PARTY LAUNCHER CAUSING THE TROUBLE ONCE YOU CHANGE THE LAUNCHER THAN YOU TRY YOU FEEL THE DIFFERENCE I HAVE PIXEL XL+++ I BEEN USING IT WITH S8 BUT THERE IS NO DELAYS WORKS ABSOLUTELY FINE I LOVED S8 ++MAN KILLER DEVICE Reply - May 13, 2018 FlyingDoritos you can turn off the animation on the s8 and it should be faster Reply - May 13, 2018 P3G4SUS that's how the animation on Samsung is, just turn it off, simple Reply - May 13, 2018 Kenneth Johnson people complain about anything its not a delay its an animation and its not that big of a deal Reply - May 13, 2018 CRUMBSandCRUMBS Turning off animations would've made for a fair test. Both phones are fast though, so no loss in going for either one. Reply - May 13, 2018 Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
